Kristan has known she wanted to write a book since she was 10 years old. While not sure when or about what, she was inspired at that age by the well know children's author Robert McCloskey, at a book signing for Make Way for Little Ducklings. Later, while presenting workshops, she was encouraged by her parent audiences to put her thoughts and ideas in a book so more people could benefit from her commom sense wisdom.

Kristan has been published in several newsletters and publications, including the Love and Logic® Journal, Montessori de Terra Linda School newsletter, Shasta Parent, and Backyard Fun.

Millionaire Babies or Bankrupt Brats, Love and Logic Solutions to Teaching Kids about Money is Kristan's first book. Her second book, also with Jim Fay entitled, Love and Logic Moneyisms - Wise Words for Raising Money Smart Kids, will be out the summer of '09.

About Kristan, Educational Consultant, Trainer and Speaker

Kristan has been facilitating a variety of skill building workshops for parents and educators in a group setting since 1999. As part of her educational practice, she will access your needs, design the format and content, and facilitate the process for participants to learn life skills in the areas of relationships, positive discipline, respectful communication, and teaching personal and financial responsibility.

Each topic is approached using a variety of learning styles to teach essential skills such as problem solving, conflict reduction, coping skills, and social and emotional intelligence skills.

Kristan also consults with the school administrations on matters of discipline and communication with teachers, parents, and/or their children. She has worked with over 40 schools and colleges - with their PTA's, PTO's, administrators and staff to bring skilled-based workshops that improve the adult student relationship. Clients range broadly --from secular and non-secular schools, from preschool to high school and from traditional to alternative model of schools.

Kristan has been consulting with parents since 1988, sharing her suggestions "over the schoolyard gate" as a certified Montessori teacher for 15 years, first about how to handle reluctant tooth brushers or disrespectful teens and, then, as the owner of her own family life coaching practice.
